Star of STEP VA Spring Musical Featured on Local Radio Program

April 12, 2023 by Brigid O'Leary

FREDERICKSBURG, VA—Cast as the lead in STEP VA’s spring musical, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” Grant Hobbs takes to the airwaves today to help sell the show.

One of the newer members of the STEP VA family, Hobbs has several years of experience in theater, having been an active member of his school’s drama program before graduating in 2020. “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” is his first return to the stage since the pandemic, and he chose to do so with the local 501(c)3 non-profit that has set out to “empower people with disabilities, and their families, through creative expression and sensory exploration.”

Recently, Hobbs sat down with Stephanie Taylor of Thunder 104.5, a local country music station. A supporter of the organization, Taylor interviewed actors from STEP VA’s last spring musical, Disney’s “The Lion King, Kids!” around this time in 2022 as well. Hobbs’ interview will air today, Wednesday, April 12, during the 2 o’clock hour.

“l loved talking about Charlie Brown and sharing the play with a wider audience,” Hobbs said.

STEP VA is performing “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” on April 15 at 6 p.m. and April 16 at 3 p.m., at Courtland High School. The show is sponsored by Dominion Energy and the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation. Tickets are on sale now. To purchase tickets or for more information, visit www.stepva.org.
